 Dominican
Although Dominican immigration has historically been fairly small, it has grown
rapidly in recent years, with more than a quarter million Dominicans immigrating
to the U.S. during the 1980s. Most of these immigrants have come to the U.S.
in search of better-paid employment, with many Dominicans eventually returning
to their native country. The largest concentration of Dominicans is located in
New York City.
